CITO – Cache In Trash Out – is an international initiative within geocaching, combining geocaching with picking up trash. CITO is usually performed in one of two ways:

While caching – Bring a bag on your next trip. Clear the roads and paths you travel.

As events – Each year so called CITO-events are organized where cachers gather to clean up in specific areas. In some cases these are huge gatherings in cooperation with companies, parks and officials, in other cases small community efforts to make a difference.
